Installation Overview

WallCooler is a very simple software to use and to install. In most cases, you will only need to:

  • Choose a secure login and password
  • Install WallCooler on your office computer at the office, and
  • Install WallCooler on your home computer (or your laptop).

There is no setup or manual configuration required to get you started. WallCooler takes care of it all!

The principle is quite simple: each time you install WallCooler, you activate it by signing-in using the secure login and password you created on the Vedivi website.

Once WallCooler is installed, it will run as a service in Microsoft Windows. So you don't need to worry about rebooting your computer or logging in to your remote desktop.

Installation Restrictions
You need Administrator privileges (or equivalent) to install WallCooler.

WallCooler runs as a Windows Service and so does not require the user to have administrator privileges.
However, you need Administrator privilege to install WallCooler.
Installer - Steps Overview
WallCooler installer will take you through the following:
Step 1 - Installer Welcome Screen
The window below appears once you opened the installer and the installer is initialized.

Click on the Next button to start the installation

Step 2 - License Agreement
Please read the End User License agreement.

Click on I Agree to accept the terms of the license, and continue with the installation.

Click on Cancel if you disagree or wish to cancel the installation.

Step 3 - Installation Options Configuration - Shortcuts

  • The 'Start Menu Group' option will create an entry in your Windows 'Start->All Programs' menu called WallCooler
  • The 'Desktop Icon' option will add a shortcut to WallCooler on the user's desktop
  • The 'Quick Launch Icon' option adds a shortcut to open WallCooler in the Quick Launch toolbar

Click the Next button to continue the installation.

Step 4 - Installation Options Configuration - Location
Choose where WallCooler should be installed.
We recommend the default location, but you can choose any other location on your local hard drives.

The default installation target directory is the "Program Files" folder in the user's default system directory (usually C:)
If you want to change the default value click the Browse button to choose another installation directory.

Click the Next button to continue the installation.

Step 5 - Installation Options Configuration - WinPcap
The first time you install WallCooler, WinPcap® will automatically be installed.

WinPcap® is the industry-standard (third party) network driver used by WallCooler to provide low-level network access. For more information on WinPcap, please go to http://www.winpcap.org/

The installation wizard will check for previous installations of WinPcap.
If the required version is not already installed, the wizard will proceed with WinPcap installation.

WallCooler will only run with the correct WinPcap version.

Click the Next button to continue the installation.

Step 6 - WallCooler installation progress
The installation automatically starts and might takes few minutes.

  • The installer starts copying the required files to the installation target directory
  • The green progress bar shows the installation progress

Once this part of the installation is finished, the wizard will automatically proceed to the next step.

Step 7 - WinPcap installation - Welcome Screen
The WinPcap® installer starts automatically once WallCooler installer finished copying files.

Click the Next button to continue the installation.

Step 8 - WinPcap installation - Setup Wizard

Click the Next button to continue the installation.

Step 9 - WinPcap installation - License Agreement

Click on I Agree to accept the terms of the license, and continue with the installation.

Click on Cancel if you disagree or wish to cancel the installation
(WallCooler cannot run without WinPcap).

Step 10 - WinPcap installation - Installation Progress

  • The installer starts copying the required files to the installation target directory
  • The green progress bar shows the installation progress

Once this part of the installation is finished, the wizard will automatically proceed to the next step.

Step 11 - WinPcap installation - Completed

Click the Finish button to go back to the WallCooler installer.

Step 12 - WallCooler Installation Completed

Congratulations, you have successfully installed WallCooler.

The first time you install WallCooler, you need to restart your computer. If you want the installation wizard to restart you computer, leave the default choice and make sure you save all your unsaved work in other opened applications. Your computer will automatically restart. Please read the following two steps in order to sign-in to WallCooler once your computer restarts.

If you want to restart your computer later, choose 'I want to manually reboot later'.
WallCooler will only work once you restarted your computer.

Click the Finish button quit the installer.

After Windows Reboot
WallCooler is now installed and you can see the WallCooler Icon in your windows 'Quick Launch' bar.
(the icon is grayed out because you are not signed-in)

You can now get started with creating your account and signing-in:
